Do You Have Courage?

Usually people do not advance in their lives because they lack the spirit of courage. Their afraid of the unknown and it stalls them from doing something big in their life.
Since my Senior Pastor was out of the country teaching the word to our awesome brothers and sisters in Great Britain, we had the opportunity to hear the word from his son. As when he often preaches, he tells a story of something that has occurred in his life, which always has the ability to become a lesson . Today his story was about how he met his football "hero" when his family was invited to one of the games of their favorite team. In his story he spoke of how he had the opportunity to meet his football hero but it was almost non-existent due to a misunderstanding with him and his wife.
When the opportunity came back around, he was able to have the courage to meet his football hero and take a picture with him without incident, which was the basis of his lesson.....Courage in Conflict. "When you lack courage, you tend to miss out on the opportunities that God has aligned for you."
He spoke of how to be encouraged you have to have courage. It was a powerful message because it got me thinking about all the things I wanted to try regarding my business, family and personal life. I felt I did not have the courage or I wasn't brae enough to try anything new because I was stuck in my "comfort zone".
Being in your comfort zone is always safe, never having to worry about anything because you have that safety net surrounding you. But, think about that for a minute....safety net, never trying anything different and new, that can get a little boring sometimes. Make you feel as though you are in a rut, stuck, no excitement. Sometimes you have to grab that courage so it can stir up inside you. Give you a new outlook on your life.
The dictionary defines the word courage as the ability to do something that frightens one; the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain, etc., without fear; bravery.
Within his sermon he gave three points of how to promote courage in you life. Those three points were: 1. Must be willing to sacrifice (physically - your body, financially and your time) 2 Must be willing to follow HIS plan 3. Must be willing to Step Out!!
That last point stood out the most for me because stepping out on faith was something that I did not have the courage to do at one time. I was afraid of failing, not having enough funds to back me on my projects and the most horrifying of all, no one believing in me enough to patronize my services or wants to pay for the services I have to offer. But that is one thing about God, He will put you in check REAL QUICK!! To this day, I have the courage to depend solely on God and allow Him to work in my life and guide me, especially on the desires of my heart.
So what is it that you have the courage to do today? What will you sacrifice for it? Will you follow God's plan? Are you willing to step out?
